If you feel like you are not the same after hitting your head, having a stroke, falling, or surviving an accident, you are not alone.  Many people recover physically and don't understand why they feel, think and act differently.  No one warned them they could feel like a different person. Others still have difficulty with walking or talking.

You may be dealing with the effects of a concussion or brain injury.  What is a brain injury?  It is a blow or jolt to the head that disrupts the brain's function.  Because the brain controls everything in the body, a brain injury can affect one or several areas of functioning.

You can recover from brain injury.  The TBI Collaborative is a group of professionals who work various discipline and who have banded together to assist people affected by brain injury.  We meet regularly to help survivors and their loved ones get the help they need to continue their recovery.
